from Michael Miskulin
The developers of Dune: Spice Wars have released a new roadmap for the real-time strategy 4X game. It announces multiplayer, heroic units, a new faction, and more.

The real-time strategy 4X game Dune: Spice Wars was released on April 26th in Steam Early Access. If the Steam ratings are to be believed, the title got off to a good start. There were no major problems or controversies. The approval of the users is 81 percent and the title can therefore be rated as “very positive”. Developer Shiro Games has now published a roadmap announcing a series of updates this summer and beyond.

Dune: Spice Wars – What does the roadmap look like?

First of all, the developers want to release the multiplayer mode in the summer as the next big update. With up to four players you should fight for Arrakis in co-op or free-for-all mode. In addition, another playable faction will be added in the summer. However, the developers have not yet revealed which faction it is. There should also be a new victory condition.

Later in the year, the developers plan to implement spaceports, starships and advanced units in Dune: Spice Wars. Another update aims to upgrade the council members by allowing the player to train them to become agents in order to send them as heroic units to battlefields on Arrakis. These innovations should be introduced into the game in the next three to six months. Other adjustments that have not yet been announced could also be made. Meanwhile, a first community update for Dune: Spice Wars has already been released, which contains many small adjustments and is intended to prepare for the multiplayer update. The patch notes you can read here.
