Pokemon Red & Blue is getting a fan remake and the first clip looks really great
The journey into the world of colorful pocket monsters began in Europe with Pokémon Red & Blue. Younger Pokémon fans who didn’t see the release of the two editions could enjoy Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Eevee! dare to travel to Kanto again, albeit with a much cuddlier look than back then.
A creative team of fans on Twitter thought about what a remake of the first generation might look like if a different drawing style had been used instead of colorful and three-dimensional objects. In a new tweet we can now marvel at her work.
This is what Gen 1 remake could look like
The Twitter account pokeyugami describes itself as a group that uploads Pokémon fanart. She’s uploaded a first clip of a self-made remake of the first generation of Pokémon that’s brimming with nostalgia. Instead of rigid camera angles, here is a hand-drawn, dynamic 3D world:

What to see In the clip, we see the playable character from the first Pokémon video games strolling through the Vertania Forest. This is home to some Pokémon such as Caterpillar or Hornliu, who also scurry past in the video. There’s even a Pokéball item hidden in the background for the trainer to pick up.
When the trainer moves into the bug collector’s field of view, he starts a conversation. This usually initiates an upcoming Pokémon fight, which is why the trainer starts to have his Poké Ball ready.

Remake with charming style
Particularly in love with detail: users julyfirecracke1 It is noticeable that the clip creators paid attention to many details from the first generation. For example, the Pikachu in the video carries a berry, because in Gen 1 every captured Pikachu carried a berry, while in Gen 3 only 50 percent of all Pikachus carried a berry.
Unfortunately, the excerpt is only a clip so far. More videos and images in this style can be seen on the fan group’s Twitter account. But who knows: Maybe Nintendo and The Pokémon Company will get the inspiration for their next title from exactly this fan project.
What do you think of an official Pokémon remake in this style?
