The PS5 is still in short supply, but Sony should already be working on the next console. Apparently, the PS5 Pro could appear as early as 2023.

Poland – Sony’s PS5 is still not standard in stores. Even if there has been an extremely long and large drop in the meantime, you probably won’t be able to simply go to the nearest electronics store and take a PlayStation 5 with you for some time. Instead, you have to watch the online retailers and wait for a drop, because supplies are still rare. Nevertheless, Sony is said to be already working on the next console, which could probably appear as early as 2023.

PS5 Pro: electronics manufacturer TCL announces the next generation of consoles

TCL introduces console plans: On May 24, television and electronics manufacturer TCL held a presentation in Poland. It was not just about their own products, but also interesting information about the next consoles was shared. According to the official presentation, TCL assumes that we can get our hands on the next generation of consoles as early as 2023. Sony and Microsoft are both said to be working on the PS5 Pro and Xbox Series X/S Pro.

This was shown by a TCL representative at the presentation in Poland: On the presentation slide you can see an overview of several console generations. Start is “Generation 8.0” in 2013 with the Xbox One and PS4. This is followed by generation 8.5 with the Xbox One S/X and the PS4 Pro. Generation 9 is then the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S, which have been on the market since 2020. For Generation 9.5, TCL believes that it could appear “2023/24”. That should then be the PS5 Pro and Xbox Series X/S Pro and not the PS6.

TCL has also already provided insight into the technical data. The PS5 Pro and Xbox Series X/S Pro should deliver 2160p and 60-120 frames per second. This would probably make it possible to play games in 8K. The consoles should probably use the AMD Radeon RX 7700 XT as the GPU.

PS5 Pro: TCL’s presentation gives hope for new consoles – Xbox Series X/S probably also in planning

Is Sony really working on a new console? Whether TCL is correct with its forecast is difficult to say. These are probably the electronics company’s internal plans, after all, the televisions should also be able to display the graphics of the latest generation of consoles. Whether the presentation is based on internal calculations or whether TCL is really in consultation with Microsoft and Sony is clear from the report PPE unfortunately not out.

But it is quite possible that the two console giants are already working on the next generation. Just a few weeks ago there were rumors about a new PlayStation console from Sony. It is not known whether this is a possible PS6 or PS5 Pro. However, the availability of the PS5 is currently very low, so that even more Xbox consoles could be sold in Japan. But a PS5 Pro could perhaps ensure that more people can finally get hold of the console they want.
