Rooted with Unreal Engine 5: New life sign from survival game

from Michael Miskulin
The team behind the survival game Rooted, which is in development and is based on Unreal Engine 5, has given a new sign of life.

A new survival game called Rooted was announced for Steam back in March. It comes from an indie developer – but it is also based on the Unreal Engine 5. At first, not much was known about the title and so the survival title could only inspire and score with its great graphics and landscapes. Now there is a new sign of life from the developers.

Rooted with Unreal Engine 5: Many details about the survival game

Root’s official account reported via Twitter and reported that the Headlight Studios team is currently working on Rooted’s locomotion system. In concrete terms, this means the realistic representation of the running and walking animations of the character models. The developers are particularly proud of the realistic appearance of the feet and the simultaneous adjustment of the posture to the angle of the ground. This may not sound very spectacular at first glance, but the inclined game hobby programmer knows that it can be a hard piece of work. In another tweet, the developers reveal that 75,000 players have already added the title to their Steam wishlist.

But there is more new material. In a small video, the developers show Light testing with Unreal Engine 5. Here you can see a course of the day including wandering Godray light effects. The developers also released another screenshot of the wilderness. Last but not least announced the teamthat interested players are now also on the official Discord server on Rooted chatting about the survival game and similar titles.
