Star Wars Jedi: Survivor fans think a character from Force Unleashed may be making a return
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has just got in the mood for the Fallen Order successor with a first trailer, but now speculation is already running hot. In particular, the new characters shown cause discussions among fans. While we can be pretty sure about the identity of one of the characters, another still raises a lot of questions.
Jedi: Survivor without Grand Inquisitor but with Starkiller?
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor takes place five years after the events of the first part and thus roughly parallel to the Obi Wan Kenobi series on Disney Plus. So, at first glance, it seems reasonable to mistake the white Pau’an who asks “What’s your next move, Jedi?” in the trailer for the Grand Inquisitor. In the first part, the leader of the Inquisition was only mentioned.
Not the Grand Inquisitor: However, there are also some arguments against it. Apart from the race, the character is not only visually very different from the Grand Inquisitor, from a interview Fallen Order director Stig Asmussen also reveals that the character will likely have a very different role. A caption reads: “An Imperial Senator makes a dangerous deal on Coruscant.” The deal is likely to refer to Cal’s lightsaber being presented to the senator by stormtroopers.

Mysterious character in the Bacta tank
The second unknown character we get to see in the trailer is the person in the bacta tank that Cal is standing in front of at the end of the trailer. His identity is not so clear, so the speculation of the fans is of course running hot.
Return of Starkiller: Some fans believe this character could be Starkiller, Darth Vader’s apprentice and protagonist of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. On the other hand, the fact that this game is no longer part of the official canon and would actually only play a few years after Jedi: Survivor speaks against it. Still, a return of this character would be interesting for many fans. Asmussen’s statement that Cal’s crew has to team up with characters in this part that would make them uncomfortable in less somber times also makes sense in this context. After all, Starkiller is responsible for the deaths of other Jedi.

A Cal clone: Some also believe that the person could be Cal himself or a clone of him due to the similarities between the characters.
Taron Malicos: Taron Malicos was a fallen Jedi that Cal had to face in the first part and whom he was able to defeat with the help of the Nightsister Merrin. Although the long white hair fits perfectly, the scars on the person’s body do not match those of Malicos.
The theories don’t stop there, of course. Other characters speculatively named include Rahm Kota (a Jedi who also appears in Force Unleashed) and Kirak Infil’a (a Jedi whom Darth Vader kills in the comics to get his kyber crystal.)
We won’t know for sure the identity of the mysterious Bacta swimmer until 2023, when Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will be released for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
Do you have any theories about the new characters in the trailer?
