Later this week, on June 2nd, Diablo Immortal will be released for iOS, Android and PC. But not everyone has a powerful gaming computer or likes to gamble on mobile devices. What speaks for Diablo Immortal on consoles and what does not

Diablo Immortal comes with controller support – on both PC and mobile devices. This actually paves the way for an implementation for consoles, right? It’s not quite that simple, as General Manager Rod Fergusson explains in an interview (via eurogamers):

I would like to note that controller support and console support are very different things. […] Some players prefer to play with the controller. So the decision was much more about fulfilling that desire of players and giving them more ways to engage with Immortal.

First for PC, then for console? Okay, so the controller support isn’t a concrete indication of a console version, but it wouldn’t hurt if you opted for it either. More importantly, Blizzard listened to the fans with the PC release. This shows that Diablo Immortal could well come to consoles if enough people are in favor of it. This is also shown by a statement by Fergusson, who explicitly does not want to rule out a port:

Basically, I’m a never-says-never type of person, but we don’t have anything to announce or talk about today.

So it could well happen that Diablo Immortal will be announced for consoles at some point. However, since such an implementation is obviously not in the works, you should not plan on it in the near future.
