Diablo Immortal will not be released in Belgium and the Netherlands

The release of Diablo Immortal is within reach – except in Belgium and the Netherlands. As announced by Blizzard, the game will no longer be published in these two countries. The reason for this is probably the legislation regarding loot boxes.

Shortly before release, Diablo Immortal will be canceled in these countries

On June 2nd Diablo Immortal will be released for smartphones and as a beta for the PC – but not everywhere. Compared to our English colleagues said a Blizzard spokesman:

“Diablo Immortal will not be available in Belgium and the Netherlands and will not appear on Battle.net, the Belgian and Dutch App stores or Google Play stores.”

“This is related to the current framework for games in these countries. Accordingly, pre-registrations for the game are not possible in these markets.”

Both Belgium and the Netherlands are at loggerheads with loot boxes, which the respective gambling laws consider illegal under certain conditions. Blizzard just doesn’t want to risk any trouble here.
