First fans fear that the Steam hit V Rising will die – that’s what the developers say

The new survival game V Rising is a huge success for the indie studio Stunlock. With over 1.5 million sales, the game ranks high on the list of most played games on Steam. However, some players fear that the game alone is not enough. It needs updates.

What do fans fear? If you look into the V Rising subreddit, you will see posts popping up again and again that talk about the future of the game. Fans fear that what V Rising currently offers isn’t enough (via reddit.com).

As hard as many players now grind, the content is simply limited. The threads are mostly small, but numerous. Other players predict that the game’s official servers will die if nothing changes (via reddit.com).

However, the fears are opposed by many other voices. The climate among the fans is clearly in favor of V Rising. Of the User sdeanjr1991 for example, reassures the critics: V Rising is still in Early Access and offers a lot for what it is.

There is a lot of agreement. Players are having fun with the content that is there and also enjoying the game solo. In addition, there is already a message from the developers. They promise: there is more to come and they want to bring new content as soon as possible.

More big updates, fewer small patches

What the developers say: in one official blog post the developers talk about the future of V Rising. There it says that they just want to find out what exactly the players actually want.

To do this, feedback must be collected and analyzed. However, we are already working on continuing to support the game:

We are currently planning to work on larger updates instead of relying on frequent small patches with minimal changes. It’s too early to tell when the first major content patch for V Rising will arrive, as we want to make sure it brings something new to the experience. This will require a little more patience from you as a fan.

Between the lines you can read that Stunlock Sutdios seems to be quite happy with the state of the game. In fact, there are fewer complaints about technical issues and more criticism of the gameplay, such as PvP being too hard. Even here, improvements have already been made.

When does it continue? It’s hard to pin down a date. At Valheim, with which V Rising is often compared, the first major update “Hearth & Home” only appeared more than half a year after the release.

However, the studio behind Valheim is also committed to making the game bug-free before new content is released. As a result, the game lost some traction a few months after release. V Rising apparently wants to go a different way.

At the moment, many players rely on private servers and sessions where they can just play their way. They enjoy exploring the world at their own pace or expanding their Victorian castles.
