Gran Turismo 7 has secretly increased the prices of almost 30 legendary cars

Gran Turismo 7 has long been criticized for taking so long to earn money while in-game prizes are increasing. But although the developers have promised to reduce the grind in the future, many car prices have risen unannounced with the latest update. These are the iconic cars and there is a simple reason for that – but the implications don’t go down too well with the fans, of course.

Gran Turismo 7 is again criticized for its pricing policy

That’s what it’s about: Since the release of Gran Turismo, dear money has always been the number one topic. Cars cost a lot and it takes a little eternity to make enough money. The criticism was loud and was also heard, there were even updates that should take care of it. However, many fans are still not too satisfied and, above all, another innovation is causing even more resentment.

New update increases prices: Although Polyphony Digital even apologized for the changes to the in-game economy, the developers are making almost exactly the same mistake again. In the course of the last update 1.15, the prices of many legendary cars have increased – sometimes even doubled.

Especially the Hagerty Collection is one of them and that at least explains how the not-so-secret price increase could have happened. The prices for these legendary cars are dynamic and based on the value of the real cars. However, this means that they only ever get more expensive, because classic cars usually almost never lose value.

Now almost 30 cars are more expensive become, while only two cars have fallen in price. At least that’s what the forum user Eggstor reports in one go extensive GTPlanet contribution. For example, the Ferrari F40 is now almost twice as expensive, going from 1.35 million credits to 2.6 million.

In and of itself, the expensive prices in Gran Turismo 7 wouldn’t break a leg. But because it takes so long to make money, no cars can be sold and the grind is not made more pleasant despite various criticisms, the whole thing seems increasingly as if Polyphony Digital and Sony are still primarily aimed at microtransactions and Wanting to encourage real money purchases.

What do you think of the price increases for legendary cars? Does that bother you?
