Evercade EXP: Blaze's second retro handheld is coming later this year

With the Evercade EXP, Blaze Entertainment has announced a new retro handheld that is scheduled to be released this year.

It’s the company’s second retro handheld, and it too uses physical cartridges.

In premium quality

The Evercade EXP, which comes standard in white, promises premium quality and specifications on par with the Evercade VS home console.

At the same time, the previous Evercade cartridge library, which now consists of more than 30 cartridge collections with more than 300 games, is supported.

The Evercade EXP is also delivered with a new collection: IREM Arcade 1. It contains the six games R-Type, In The Hunt, Moon Patrol, 10 Yard Fight, Battle Chopper (Mr Heli) and Lightning Swords.

This is what the technology looks like

The Evercade EXP is equipped with a 4.3-inch IPS display that enables a resolution of 800×480. A TATE mode is also implemented, in which you can rotate the handheld by 90 degrees in order to be able to play vertically scrolling games in the best possible way.

L2 and R2 are also waiting for you as new triggers, WiFi is integrated and charging is via USB-C. The mini-HDMI output (720p) has also been revised and is said to offer more stability with the cable.

As mentioned, the specs of the console are the same as Evercade VS. Inside is a 1.5 GHz processor and 4 GB of RAM.

The Evercade EXP will be released in winter 2022 at a price of 149.99 euros, pre-orders will be possible from September 2022.
