Sonic Frontiers: New teaser shows gameplay snippets

The spiritual successor to the Dreamcast hit Sonic Adventure continues to take shape. A new, albeit very short, teaser gives an outlook on the game world, optics and maneuvers of the blue cult hedgehog.

In order for the planned release of Sonic Frontiers to be held towards the end of 2022, Sega’s in-house Sonic Team is busy working on the new open-world adventure of the lightning-fast and beloved hedgehog. A new teaser shows Sonic in action, the game world is visually reminiscent of the environments from games in the Xenoblade series.

Always firmly druff!

Of course, Sonic once again races through the vast landscape at breakneck speed, smashes strange robot creatures with his Dash, for whose outlet there can actually only be one person responsible. The opponents in the video are of course a piece of cake for Sonic, even larger calibers are not up to his fast jump attacks. You can also see the wall run, simply running up the walls vertically and then knocking on the opponent’s sensitive spot at the top, makes a very dynamic impression in the teaser.

Like on rails

Of course, there are also various passages in which Sonic whizzes around on rails in order to master certain sections – and of course to collect the coveted coins along the way. The gameplay shown makes you want more, maybe there will be a little more to see from the new Sonic game at the Summer Game Fest on June 9th from 8:00 p.m.
