Enough of the rumours, leaks and assumptions. Capcom has finally confirmed a Resident Evil 4 remake. The release was even revealed in a first trailer.

Tokyo – What do you do when you’ve created one of the best horror games of all time? You just bring it out again. For years die-hard Resident Evil fans have been waiting for a remake of the acclaimed fourth installment, and finally Capcom has given them what they want. At Sony’s last State of Play, the developer presented a first trailer for Resident Evil 4 Remake. But that’s not all, even the release date has already been set.

Resident Evil 4: Trailer kicks off Sony’s State of Play with a bang

After the remakes of Resident Evil 2 and 3, it was actually as certain as amen in church that part 4 would also get a makeover. The only question was when that would happen. After much speculation, it seemed pretty certain that Capcom would come out with the language later this year. It was unexpected that Resident Evil 4 would take over the opening of the State of Play on June 2, 2022. For fans of the series, the start of the presentation with this trailer was a real bang.

Admittedly, not much can be concluded from the trailer. The image material shown consists almost exclusively of render sequences and does not yet show any gameplay. After the pictures, however, one can have first hopes that Capcom is putting a lot of effort into recapturing its unique atmosphere in the implementation of the classic. Also gratifying: The release is already set for March 24, 2023, less than a year away. During the State of Play it was said that Resident Evil 4 Remake would come with content for the PlayStation VR2. So the headset could get its first killer app.
