British indie developer Auroch Digital and publisher Focus Entertainment have announced Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun as a “homage to frenetic retro shooters of the good old days”. However, gamers will have to wait until the release.

“Boltgun” promises a “perfect blend” of “Warhammer 40,000” and the classic, fast-paced gameplay and look of ’90s shooters. The single-player title puts players in the shoes of a battle-hardened Space Marine who must confront the demons of chaos in a galaxy-spanning mission. However, it will be a long time before gamers can throw themselves into the retro shooter. Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun is scheduled for release in 2023 for PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Switch.
