In a few days, Fortnite will start with Season 3. The release date has now been confirmed by Epic Games.

Update from 06/02/2022: Epic Games has been silent for long enough, now nails are coming. Season 3 of Fortnite should start this weekend, that much was for sure. However, the exact beginning of the new season was not yet certain. In the meantime, the developer studio has finally spoken up and confirmed: Season 3 of Fortnite begins on June 5th.

Fortnite: Everything about Season 3 – start date, live events and new Battle Pass

Epic Games had to elicit the confirmation with difficulty. Neither on the official Fortnite channels nor on those of Epic was the start of Season 3 recently mentioned. The announcement of the launch date came instead on the developer’s website, in a message about the next concert of the Soundwave series in Fortnite. There it was widely revealed that Gen Hoshino is scheduled to make a virtual appearance on June 9th. The confirmation of the start of Season 3, on the other hand, only came in a single subordinate clause. Strange prioritization on the part of Epic Games, but at least we have security now.

First report from 05/27/2022: Cary, North Carolina – It’s almost time to restart Fortnite again. The current Season 2 of Chapter 3 has been running for a few months, but it’s slowly becoming obsolete. At the beginning of June, the current season will end and the battle royale will move into a new season, with a big live event and a new Battle Pass. Everything we know so far about Season 3 of Fortnite, its start and all the innovations, you can read here.

Fortnite: Start and Live Event of Season 3 – Then it starts

Then season 3 starts: Season 2 of Fortnite’s Chapter 3 is still ongoing. The current league only started on March 22nd, but will end on June 3rd according to the current countdowns for in-game items. This will make it a shorter season than its predecessor. Chapter 3 Season 3 should start on June 4th. The same date also applies to the live event that accompanies the start of the new season.

  • Start of Season 3: June 4, 2022
  • Season 3 live event start: June 4, 2022 at 10:00 p.m. CEST

This is known about the live event: Until recently, Epic Games was largely silent about the Fortnite Season 3 launch event. The first hints from the North Carolina development studio came via Twitter and the game’s main menu, where a new lobby background predicted a moon base and the return of the Mecha Bear. It is now known that the event will take place on June 4th at 22:00 and is called “COLLISION”.

What exactly will happen in KOLLISION has EpicGames not revealed yet. However, the event will be contested in teams of four players. The lobby for this will be activated half an hour before the start, so that all participants can start together on time.

Fortnite: Battle Pass and new map in Season 3? That could be expected by fans in the new league

Here’s the Battle Pass: For those who follow Fortnite closely, every new Battle Pass is a real event. After all, the new cosmetic items are a kind of status symbol in Battle Royale. There have already been some rumors and leaks for the Season 3 Battle Pass in Fortnite. Again, for example, Star Wars icon Darth Vader comes into play with the new Battle Pass and even Indiana Jones will make an appearance as a new outfit. The current leak for the Battle Pass is far from confirmed and should be treated with some caution.

What is changing on the map? There are not too many major changes to the Fortnite map to be expected, since there was a major change to the map in Chapter 3 Season 1. A few new points of interest or biomes could still be added with Season 3. A reference to a new POI called “DDMachine” was recently hidden in the game’s data, which could probably mean the collider, which has been in Fortnite since update 20.40. There are no exact details about new changes to the map at the moment.

What is there to do before the new season? If you have accumulated a few Battle Stars in Season 2 and want to spend them on certain rewards, you should do so as soon as possible. At the start of Season 3, any remaining Stars will automatically be exchanged for the earliest available rewards. Also, any remaining bars are lost at the end of the season, so be sure to spend those beforehand as well. There will be a bargain hunt in Fortnite from May 31st, in which all characters on the map will offer their goods cheaper.
