[PLUS] RX 6000 refresh: RX 6950 XT, 6750 XT and 6650 XT in the test

[PLUS] RX 6000 refresh: RX 6950 XT, 6750 XT and 6650 XT in the test

Three new Radeon models complement the RX 6000 range at the appropriate point: The Radeon RX 6950 XT serves Ultra HD enthusiasts, the Radeon RX 6750 XT the aspiring WQHD clientele and the Radeon RX 6650 XT the masses with full HD screen. The new models are a classic refresh instead of a new generation, but the timing for falling market prices is right.

AMD uses the opportunity for a small afterburner: A new driver branch in the form of the “AMD Software May 2022 Preview” squeezes the last out of RDNA 2 and thus causes a stir in the PCGH performance index.

Everything is new in May

The new driver delivers decent performance gains in a variety of games, including Grid Legends and Dying Light 2, as well as smaller but still significant gains in Cyberpunk 2077, Guardians of the Galaxy, Elden Ring, Halo Infinite, Psychonauts 2, and The Witcher 3, among others. Um To accurately map the performance ratios, we tested both the new and the old Radeon graphics cards with the internally named 22.10 driver. This is also the reason why the 2022 performance index is still not “full” and can be found on the graphics start page: the constant follow-up tests eliminate the time allotted for this. An index run takes around five hours; there are also about two hours for the ray tracing performance index. Finally, in the coming issue you can expect all values including purchase advice.
