During the last State of Play, Sony let the zombie out of the bag and announced the remake of Resident Evil 4. The first trailer has already given a good impression of what awaits us with the new edition. The YouTube channel ElAnalistaDeBits took a closer look at the trailer and compared it to the original in a video comparison. The video shows what differences there will be.

Resident Evil 4 Remake is getting more atmospheric

For a better comparison, the same scenes from the original and the remake have been placed next to each other. Especially in the opening scene, it is noticeable that the remake strikes a somber tone than the original.

The scene in which the protagonist Leon drives the car takes place in broad daylight in the original, while the same scene takes place in the dark at night in the remake. This makes the whole mood look much more menacing and atmospheric. The interiors of buildings are also more shady than in the original.

What else stands out: There are even scenes from the game that weren’t in the original. For example, the trailer for the remake shows Leon talking to the President. This coincides with the statement by Capcom that, although they are based on the classic, they are also breaking new ground.

In addition, the level of detail has of course increased in the remake: people, nature and the interior of buildings have improved textures than the original, which is partly due to the more modern technology of the RE Engine. However, the areas themselves remain the same.
