Deadpool 3: Disney and Fox are still into Rated-R content

The Suicide Squad: Do we really need more adult superhero movies? (1)

Currently there is almost nothing for the third Deadpool movie known. Accordingly, it is interesting to hear from the film’s two screenwriters in an interview. Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick were recently interviewed by the Den of Geek website and shared some information about the new Deadpool movie. For example, they look forward to the opportunity to work with Deadpool in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to work. This is possible because of Disney’s acquisition of Fox in 2019.”You know, that was never a marriage that we saw coming – Fox and Disney, that was an external thing (aside) from our storytelling“, describes Rhett Reese in an interview. Nevertheless, one would like to make the best of this situation. Numerous references as in the first two films, only now in the MCU, seem inevitable.

“Deadpool stays Deadpool”

Some may wonder how the family-friendly company Disney reacts to projects like Deadpool 3. After all, the Deadpool brand is known for anything but family-friendly humor. When asked what it’s like to write a Deadpool movie for this same company, Paul Wernick replied: “Deadpool is Deadpool“. Rhett adds: “Don’t worry about that. So far they have been very supportive in this regard. If it’s about a specific joke where we crossed a line, then maybe we’ll hear something about it, (something like) ‘Maybe not that joke’.

But I think they’ve been very supportive of what we’re doing so far because obviously we’ve been doing it independently of them for a long time and I think they’ve seen the success and have had even greater success themselves. So hopefully it will be a successful marriage. But we definitely have their support and that’s a great feeling.”
