Stranger Things: Season 4 finale is set to be extremely emotional

Before the fourth season of StrangerThings was launched on Netflix on May 27th, the successful mystery series was able to adorn itself with many adjectives: it was described as significantly darker than the previous seasons and, above all, as incredibly expensive. In the meantime, fans can at least see the first point for themselves.

At least almost: Because it’s still there fourth season not over. While watching Netflix on May 27th namely with seven episodes of the fourth season, the last two episodes and thus the season finale only am July 1st come across the streaming service. in one Interview with The Hollywood Reporter Series creator Shawn Levy now reveals what is behind the strange division.

Why is Stranger Things season 4 shown in two parts?

Among other things, Levy revealed that the decision of the split squadron mainly due to the production was hit: “We didn’t think we’d get nine episodes done in time and we’ve kept the world waiting long enough. We always knew if we could deliver the first seven, we’d have such a satisfying breaking point and a paying moment that it keeps people fed for enough weeks for us to finish volume two.”

“Each streaming service is trying different models. We’ve seen entire seasons […] like Stranger Things 1, 2, and 3. We’ve seen Disney Plus and Hulu with a weekly model, but it just didn’t feel right for this. So we’re glad we were able to give our viewers a big portion of the story.”

“But it also gives us enough time to master the landing, ending on a very strong note with the last two episodes and, as you’ve already seen, this season relies on another level of visual effects and world-building . And as you can imagine, Volume 2 is very ambitious with its storytelling and we need a bit more time to finish the season really strong.”
