WWDC 22: Live stream Monday at 7 p.m. with MacBook Air 2022, AR and iOS 16?

Tomorrow Apple will be the focus of the technology world with the WWDC 2022. The presentation is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. German time and will again contain some new products. For example, there is speculation about iOS 16 with various exciting innovations, about a new MacBook Air, but also about an AR or VR focus. While Apple, as every year, remains vague until just before, the details are already emerging in the rumor mill.

How among other things 9to5mac reports, Apple could introduce the always-on lock screen with the presumed launch of the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max, which has long been part of the repertoire of various Android smartphones. With iOS 16, which is to be presented now, iPhone users will also have wallpapers with widget functions available in the future. According to reports, the notification center and the “Focus Mode” are also being revised. Last but not least, there is talk of “social network-like” functions for “messages” or “news” and new “health” features.

WWDC 2022: If there will be hardware, it will probably be the MacBook Air 2022

If Apple actually presents hardware at WWDC 2022, then according to rumors it will probably end up with a 2022 version of the MacBook Air. The Americans are said to have planned to present the laptop equipped with the M2 chip. According to a Bloomberg journalist, however, the choice of colors is limited. Instead of showing the wide range of iMac-like colors that has been speculated about for a long time, you end up with the three well-known variants: Space Gray, Silver and Gold.

Looking at the iPad OS 16, it is said that there are major changes to the topic of windows and multitasking in the room. In addition, it probably has the supposed changes for iOS 16 in its luggage, i.e.: the new notification center, the revised lock screen and the extended “Focus Mode”. In addition, Apple could also officially introduce Mac OS 13 “Mammoth” with some major revisions and Watch OS 9. Among other things, it is expected that the “Watch Faces” of older models will visually approach the current “Apple Watch Series 7” lineup.

The colleagues from The Verge accuse Apple of promising a lot when it comes to VR and AR, but delivering little so far. After the smartphone, the topic is actually the next big hit in the technology world. Against this background, one now hopes for tangible announcements. In view of the software focus of the WWDC, it will probably not be hardware, but one hopes that Apple will shed more light on the ecosystem of augmented or virtual reality or at least its vision of it.

Which products and innovations the technology conference is ultimately about will be revealed tomorrow, June 6, 2022, from 10 a.m. Pacific Time or 7 p.m. German time. Apple reveals how WWDC 2022 will be structured on his website. You can follow them in the live stream on Youtubevia apple.com, the Apple Developer app, and the Apple TV app.
