Biologist dissects Pokémon and the result, while anatomically correct, is downright spooky
In case you’ve always wondered how Pokémon actually work, here’s something very special for you. The biologist, artist and Redditor TheChristopherStoll draws very specific Pokémon in a look that would also fit in a biology book. That is to say: The cute little monsters are sort of cut open in the middle and we can see their internal organs including the skeleton, muscles and so on. While that’s fascinating, it’s also a bit gross.
That’s how scary anatomically correct Pokémon cross sections look
Strictly Scientific Anatomy: Anyone interested in biology and anatomy should really enjoy the works of Christopher Stoll. Because his drawings give us insights into the inner workings of some Pokémon – sometimes deeper insights than you might like. In case you always wanted to know how a despotar is actually made and structured, here you go:

It doesn’t just look cool, but also comes with various descriptions. For example, you can learn where the digestive organs are located, what the armor plates are made of and what bones and muscles are. On top of that, the whole thing might give you nasty nightmares because it looks pretty scary.
The same goes for Heiteira, of course, whose inner life is even equipped with ovaries, pheromone glands and spermatophores. From the outside, the Pokémon somehow looks a lot nicer and I personally could have done without this insight. But anything for science, I guess…

Even more of that you can in this Reddit post see. In addition, a few years ago, the biologist and artist published a complete Pokémon anatomy book on the suddenly not so cute little creatures. You can find more scary news about Pokémon here:
If you’d rather play something nicer, we’ve got plenty of new info on what’s to come Pokémon Crimson and Crimson. A fresh trailer has just been released for the game of the ninth generation of Pokémon, which reveals, among other things, 4-player co-op, new legendary Pokémon and much more.
How do you like the anatomy drawings?
