CoD: Modern Warfare 2 – Gameplay premiere at Summer Game Fest 2022
The Summer Game Fest 2022 will take place from June 9th. And, as is now certain, not without Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Activision Blizzard plans to show a “gameplay level world premiere” as part of the purely digital event. The official unveiling of the forthcoming first-person shooter should already take place the day before.
The Summer Game Fest digital promotional event will celebrate another edition this year – and very soon. The main event is scheduled to begin on June 9th at 1 p.m. our time. The organizers promise a cross-industry mix of “presentations, announcements and games”. Activision Blizzard will also be part of this with gameplay for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 – at least the developer and publisher has announced a “gameplay level world premiere”.
More gameplay, less movie?
The official unveiling of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, on the other hand, is scheduled to take place the day before – on June 8th. The title chosen by Activision Blizzard for the Game Fest screening suggests that the Reveal trailer could be a tight mix of (mainly) movie scenes and gameplay. Far more game scenes are likely to be seen on June 9th during the main event. Activision Blizzard has so far been silent about which parts of the game should be presented there.

It is also still unclear for which platforms Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will be released. Experience has shown that the reveal trailer for Activision Blizzard’s first-person shooter flagship should clarify this. A release of versions for last-gen consoles would be conceivable, because due to the hardware bottlenecks, the Playstation 4, for example, will still have a significant player base in 2022.
