Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time Remake: Release no longer scheduled for FY2023

Ubisoft no longer plans to release Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake in fiscal year 2023.

The bad news for fans of the Prince of Persia series continues. Ubisoft has officially announced that Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake will no longer be released in fiscal year 2023.

The remake of the classic has been postponed several times and was last announced with a release before April 2023. Due to these announcements, pre-orders were even possible from various retailers.

An official statement from Ubisoft now reads: “We are proud of the work that Ubisoft Pune and Ubisoft Mumbai have done to date and Ubisoft Montreal will benefit from this achievement and the lessons learned. The new team will continue the work to deliver a great remake. As a consequence, we are no longer planning a release for FY2023 and are removing the game from retail listings.”

According to this statement, the latest postponement is due to the fact that the work has been put back in the hands of Ubisoft Montreal, which was also responsible for Prince of Persia in 2003. Anyone who has already pre-ordered the game can contact their retailer for a refund, according to Ubisoft.
