Already last year we had Endling – Extinction is Forever on our highlight list for the best survival games. We already know that nothing came of the release. Due to the postponement, it was then said that the small sidescoller will appear in 2022. But we don’t have to wait until the end of the year, because a new trailer has finally revealed the release date – and incidentally created a melancholic atmosphere.

When will Endling appear? It’s suddenly going very quickly now: Endling will be released on July 19, 2022 for PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC.

What game is Endling? In the 3D side scroller, the world is on the brink. People have destroyed everything through their greed for resources, environmental problems are the order of the day. In the middle of it all, as the last fox mother, we try to protect our three cubs, who all have their own personalities and fears. It is not just about mastering the many dangers, but also caring for the little foxes and making emotionally challenging decisions.

Protecting your cubs as a fox mum is certainly not easy – especially not in a dystopian world. The subtitle “Extinction is Forever” makes that more than clear. So prepare yourself for moments and decisions that affect you.

I’ve been eagerly awaiting Endling ever since it was announced in 2019. I’m really happy that I can finally go hiking with the foxes from July 19th, but the new trailer shows me what else is waiting for me besides motherly love and romping puppies: loneliness, anger, loss , helplessness.

I tremble and tremble just thinking about how desperately I will try to protect my young ones, who are growing dear to me. The first scene alone with the little fur ball shaking the can off his head warms my heart, but also leaves me sad after the terrible reality is made clear to me in the seconds that follow and accompanied by melancholic music: The world is on fire , because the human screwed it up.

I will certainly have a hard time nibbling on the subject if I do my best as a fox mother. The handkerchiefs are already ready.

If you like such smaller and less action-packed titles, then Stray is certainly something for you. The adventure will also be released on July 19th and got a new trailer at the State of Play.
