Sonic Frontiers: What is all that Halo doing in my Sonic?

Since the latest gameplay trailer, it’s clear where the journey is headed for Sonic Frontiers goes. Namely in an open world. Unfortunately, neither the fan base nor the editors could really get excited about this. The first scenes of the game left disappointment and revealed weaknesses that have plagued the Sonic franchise for generations. Martin, Alex, Benjamin and Ana just had to capture what SEGA’s blue hedgehog has been doing right and wrong since the Mega Drive. Why doesn’t Mario’s former competitor manage to regain his old strength?

But tonight Sonic gets down to business. The official presentation of Frontiers is still to come. We hope that we have to apologize for the video at the end, because the new impressions show a really cool experience – and maybe break the vicious circle of anticipation and disappointment. But somehow we don’t have the feeling that it’s really going to happen that way…
