Battlefield 2042: 128 players should continue to receive support

from Norman Wittkopf
Just before the start of Battlefield 2042 Season 1, DICE clarified reports of future player caps.

Season 1 of Battlefield 2042 will start shortly with “Zero Hour” and will bring with it, among other things, a new map, a new specialist and two new gunships and weapons. In the run-up, among other things, Xbox Wire had reported, that future maps will only be 64-player, while game modes like Conquest on the original launch maps will still be playable with 128 players. As is well known, DICE had previously canceled the 128-player support for the “Breakthrough” mode.

However, community manager Kevin Johnson clarified this on Twitter: “Just to be clear, we have no intention of dropping 128-player support for future map offerings. Players have told us that this is great for some modes, but not all. Our focus is on developing fun, freedom, and creativity, and 128P will continue to be present on future maps in Battlefield Portal!

According to Gamingbolt.com the conflicting information on this may seem strange, but it could simply have been another problem with communication. Regardless, the official stance at the moment seems to be that 128-player support is still on board in select cases.
