Diablo Immortal: Player gets ad instead of reward

from Rhonda Bachman
The free-to-play game Diablo Immortal was criticized by players shortly after its release. In particular, the microtransactions, which users say are intrusive, cause a lot of trouble. A user has now shared a screenshot in which he does not receive a reward after a dungeon, but advertising for in-game purchases.

On June 2nd, Diablo Immortal was released for PC and mobile devices. Even before the release, Blizzard had to comment on pay-to-win allegations. Because of loot boxes, the free-to-play game was not released in the Netherlands and Belgium. The title is currently in a difficult position for players, because the microtransactions contained in it go too far.

“Cash Grab”: Player gets the privilege to spend more money

YouTuber DotoDoya has now shared one of these microtransactions on Twitter. As he writes, he had completed a dungeon in Diablo Immortal. However, instead of a crate of loot, he reportedly only received an in-game pop-up. According to the screenshot he shared with his tweet, completing the Destruction’s End dungeon gave him the opportunity to make a one-time purchase for a Loot Crate. This includes several items priced at $6.99.

“I know I haven’t talked about it yet, but I might have to do a video about Diablo Immortal do,” the YouTuber tweeted. “This is the funniest cash grab popup I’ve ever seen in game. I complete a dungeon but get no upgrade drops other than the privilege of making a new microtransaction.”

Recently, some players were annoyed that cosmetic items and some rewards from the Battle Pass in Diablo Immortal tied to characters and servers. This circumstance is fatal, especially for undecided players who cannot yet commit themselves to a class. In addition, according to the YouTube channel Bellular News, it should cost over 100,000 euros to fully upgrade your character in Diablo Immortal.
