The E3 games fair is scheduled to take place again regularly in 2023, also on site. The President of ESA is confident about the future of the event.
News
in one Interview with the Washington Post explained the president of the “Entertainment Software Association” (ESA for short), that E3 2023 will take place again. And not only digitally, but also on site. In recent years, the video game fair has either been canceled due to the pandemic or could only take place online.
That year, many publishers and exhibitors decided to skip E3. Instead, some host their own live streams or migrated to the competing one Summer Game Fest away. For 2023, however, there is confidence again:
“We look forward to returning in 2023 with both a digital and an in-person event. As much as we love these digital events and as much as they reach people and we want that global reach, we also know that there’s a really strong need of the people to gather – meet in person, see each other and talk about what makes games great,” stated President and CEO Stan Pierre-Louis.
The willingness of the organizers is there. The only question is whether the publishers who left this year will be there again in 2023.
A possible period for the fair unfortunately not mentioned yet. The ESA will probably announce a date by the end of the year.
