WoW: The Will of Elune! Will Ysera return to Azeroth in Dragonflight?

World of Warcraft

In World of Warcraft, Ysera was once the aspect of the green dragonflight and the lord of the Emerald Dream. In the mortal world, the dragon lady went by many names such as “the green lady”, “the dreamer” or later “the awakened one”. Like her big sister Alexstrasza, Ysera received her power from the titan Eonar. For thousands of years, the Green Dragonflight brought harmony to nature and mortal races. They did this in a very special way. Because unlike the Red Dragonflight, the Green Dragons drew their power not from the life force of Azeroth, but from the Emerald Dream.

The Titans and the Emerald Dream

The Titans created the Emerald Dream as a kind of blueprint showing the original form of Azeroth. In the event that Azeroth should be destroyed, the dream serves as a reconstruction plan for the titan keepers. After the creators spread the dungeons of the Old Gods across Azeroth, the titan guardians put the green dragon lady Ysera into a trance to watch over the dream. However, the Great Division of the World, Xavius’ return, and the Cataclysm loosened the shackles of the Old Gods, who sought to rule the Emerald Dream. Her goal was to use the dream to reshape Azeroth to her liking.

InWoW (buy now ): Legion took its course. The nightmarish satyr Xavius brought a grisly end to the guardians of the Emerald Dream. On a quest to free his sinister master, N’Zoth, from his slumber, Xavius stole the Tear of Elune and staged a gruesome scavenger hunt in the sacred druid grove of Val’shara in the Broken Isles. In the heart of druidism, the satyr lord finally went all out and struck the final blow at the hated druids and Ysera.

Xavius’ first victim was the green dragonflight. For although the Wardens of the Emerald Dream had lost their power at the end of Cataclysm, Ysera was determined to defend her domain and the creation of the titans to the last breath.

To lure Ysera out of the dream, Xavius used her adopted son, Cenarius, as bait. And it came as it had to come. While searching for Cenarius, the green dragon lady herself fell into the satyr lord’s clutches. The struggle for the Tears of Elune eventually culminated in a massive battle at the foot of the Temple of the Moon Goddess in Val’shara. In the end, our heroes celebrated a sad victory, because it claimed the life of the Dream Warden.
