A trojan is currently in circulation, which is distributed via a fake CCleaner license. The malware steals passwords and credit cards from unsuspecting victims.
There is currently a warning against one Trojanwhich has what appears to be a free version of the CCleaners is spread. This is not the real program, but a scam. This was from the Security specialists from Avast discovered and reported.
According to this, cracked versions of the “CCleaner Pro” license are offered on relevant websites. However, the links only lead to malware programs that, among other things, target the theft of Passwords, credit card information and also crypto wallets are off.
Average should around 10,000 people per day fall for the trick. This is mainly because the creators of the malware manage to rank their fake websites relatively high up in Google search results. This is possible using so-called “Black Hat Seo” techniques, which, for example, set automatic links and search terms.
At the moment approx eight different files in circulation that are part of this Trojan horse campaign. Users are therefore advised not to download any programs from unknown sites, even if they appear legitimate at first glance.
