Hi-Rez unveils new fighting game Divine Knockout (DKO), a third-person brawler set in a colorful world.

Divine Knockout (DKO), a physics-based third-person fighting game, has been announced as Hi-Rez’s next game.

DKO is a special take on a fighting game: a physics-based third-person brawler set in a colorful world of gods and mythologies.

“We were inspired by 2D platform fighting games where you have to knock your opponents out of the level,” explains Alex Grimonpont, Executive Producer of Divine Knockout. “We want to bring this gaming experience to a 3D world where you’re always in the middle of the action.”

Gods like Thor, Hercules, and Amaterasu await players in mythological arenas filled with environmental hazards. Reimagined as stylized and expressive combatants, these gods and goddesses are set in a vibrant and dangerous world.

Each arena has a unique mechanic that players must master if they want to win. In some, the ground crumbles to dust over time, while others harbor deadly traps that must be dodged… or, of course, shoved in by your opponents!

In the main mode of DKO, in which two teams of three players compete against each other, there is a new adventure and a new mode every round, for example “King of the Hill” or “Oddball”. If you like it even more intense, you will find the right challenge in the classic one-on-one duel.

The controls are suitable for all players, in DKO even devastating attacks can be carried out with just one button press. Throw boulders as Hercules, unleash the power of Excalibur or wield Thor’s hammer Mjolnir – anything is possible! DKO is all about timing, positioning and quick decisions. Complex key combinations have no place in the game.

Divine Knockout is the first game from Hi-Rez’s new studio, Red Beard Games. Based in Brighton, southern England, Red Beard Games is Hi-Rez’s first studio outside of Alpharetta, Georgia (USA).
