Guy who invented the monk in WoW is now bringing new MMORPG – Supported by major Twitch streamers

Project Honor is the name of the new and also first game from the Notorious studio. Behind it are many former WoW developers with the aim of creating a high-fantasy MMORPG. They are not only supported by Riot Games (LoL, Valorant), but also by big names on Twitch.

What kind of game is this? Little is known about this at the moment. Project Honor is intended to be a high-fantasy MMORPG and rely heavily on different class roles. The developers emphasize that the gaming experience should be the focus. They want players to keep talking about the game and sharing memories of exciting events outside of the testing phases.

In addition to the sophisticated classes and the experience of the players, a gigantic new world is the third pillar of Project Honor. In a video, the developers show different peoples, some of which look like elves, goblins and orcs. Whether these will all be playable is currently still in the stars.

Why is this exciting? Behind the new name Notorious hide some names that are already known in the MMORPG world. Above all, many and long-standing developers of World of Warcraft are now working on Project Honor.

The studio is co-founded by Chris Kaleiki. He worked on World of Warcraft for 13 years and was instrumental in designing the Monk class. He was also involved in various PvP systems and skills between 2007 and 2020. Also on board are the following exciting developers with a lot of MMORPG experience:

• Cole Eastburn – Worked as a concept artist on World of Warcraft for 14 years, giving many characters their looks
• Colin Volrath – Before working on WoW as a senior level designer, he created the maps Tuscan and Russka in Counter-Strike, among others
• Jason Kanagaratnam – Brings some MMORPG experience. As a gameplay engineer, he not only worked on World of Warcraft, but also on Elder Scrolls Online
• John Liberto – The former lead system designer for New World at Amazon Games has already designed gameplay systems for Bulletstorm and Gears of War, among others

Studio can attract large investors and well-known supporters

Who are the investors? Unlike some MMORPGs from new studios, Notorious does not rely on crowdfunding. The developer studio, which is about a year old, was able to attract some large investors. In addition to Galaxy Interactive, Riot Games and OTK also supported the team financially.

This is especially exciting in view of the fact that Riot Games has its own MMORPG in the pipeline, which we also don’t know very much about yet.

However, the development team is focusing on the collaboration with OTK, which was announced on June 9, 2022.

Who is OTK? A large influencer network is hidden behind the name, where you can also find some of the most well-known streamers in the world. Among other things, the “best MMORPG streamer on Twitch” is in this network – Asmongold.

But other huge names like Mizkif, Emiru and Esfand also belong to OTK.
