Diablo Immortal: With more than 10 million installations, the most successful launch of the series

from Claus Ludewig
As developer Blizzard has announced, Diablo Immortal has already been downloaded over 10 million times. Thus, the latest part has set a series record.

Diablo Immortal can now be played on mobile devices with Android and iOS. PC players can join the fray in an open beta version. According to the first reviews, the majority of mobile gamers are very satisfied with Blizzard’s work. The mobile game received an average of 4.8 out of five possible stars from 108,000 user reports submitted for the Android version. The combination of Diablo 3 and MMO elements is praised, as well as the good graphics, which, however, overwhelm many a smartphone. The situation is different on the PC. Here the new Diablo is punished by Metacritic, for example. In addition to microtransactions, bugs and few graphics options spoil the picture. As developer Blizzard has announced, Diablo Immortal is still a reason to celebrate. Never before in series history has there been over 10 million installations within a few days of launch.

Reward for Diablo Immortal players

However, those responsible do not go into detail on which platform how many downloads took place. All players who log into Diablo Immortal and complete the tutorial within the next 30 days will receive the Horadrim Set for free in the in-game shop. The gear set only has cosmetic effects.

Diablo Immortal makes headlines primarily with its aggressive microtransaction policy. There are several different in-game currencies and a variety of packages. According to one player, it even costs over 100,000 euros to fully equip a character. Typical for a mobile game, loot boxes are also built in, where you don’t know exactly what you’re getting before you buy it. Diablo Immortal is therefore not available in Belgium and the Netherlands. Some players do not receive virtual items as an in-game reward for a win, but instead see a discount on purchase offers.
