Highwater: Turn-based doomsday strategy adventure for PC and mobile

from Norman Wittkopf
The recently announced indie title Highwater takes players this year into a flooded end-time world with a charming look, in which there is supposed to be a lot to discover.

Highwater is described by Demagog Studio, the developers known for Golf Club: Wasteland, as a “3D story-driven adventure game with isometric turn-based combat” set in a flooded post-apocalyptic urban environment. Single players navigate the world by boat, discover islands and make new allies to help fight enemies.

In the midst of a major climate catastrophe, the flooded and eponymous region of Hightower has become a kind of safety zone between the last two dry regions: the almost worldwide devastated country of the “War Zone” and the fortified city of “Alphaville”, where the super-rich live behind huge walls .

Survive and advance in Highwater

When life on Earth becomes unbearable for humans and rumors of an escape to Mars spread, the main character Nikos embarks on a journey to Hightower and finally towards Alphaville in order to cross the seemingly impassable border there, taking against Insurgents are being fought and food must be procured.

Players can also freely navigate their boat to various islands in the flooded world from a third-person perspective to face dangers, interact with fellow citizens, and experience the landscapes of the game world. The Highwater Pirate Radio is running in the background, which is not only intended to entertain with music, but also provides comments on one’s own struggle for survival. Highwater is due out this December for PC both via Steam as well as the Epic Games Store, as well as a mobile version for Android and iOS.
