Is the FOV slider coming to consoles? Players who want to play Warzone 2 on PS4, PS5, Xbox One or Xbox Series X still have to worry. The American magazine CharlieIntel, together with a number of influencers, had the opportunity to take a closer look at the Infinity Ward studios and the new Modern Warfare 2. A featured feature of Warzone 2 makes a CoD expert nervous. However, the FOV slider that many players want for the consoles was not an issue. It remains to be seen whether the feature will come.

What is a FOV slider? FOV stands for Field of View. On the PC in Warzone you can adjust the width of the field of view using the FOV slider and thus see more of the environment. This is not possible on PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X. The reason: the old generation of consoles cannot technically cope without suffering from massive frame drops.

How likely is a FOV slider for consoles? In itself, the feature for the PS5 and the Xbox Series X is not a problem. The current console generation is powerful enough to implement the FOV slider effortlessly. In CoD Vanguard, the FOV slider already works on these consoles. The problem: Warzone 2 should also appear for PS4 and Xbox One. So there is a concern that the old consoles will affect Warzone 2 so badly that the FOV slider will again be unavailable.

The fact that it works in CoD Vanguard on the new consoles gives hope that Warzone 2 will also get a FOV slider for PS5 and Xbox Series X. It seems players won’t have to wait too long for news on that either. Warzone 2 is scheduled to be released in 2022. It is therefore to be expected that the first official information will soon be available.
