Diablo 4 gameplay, details and new class revealed at Xbox Showcase

Much more interesting, however: New gameplay from Diablo 4 was also shown. And it seems like the action RPG is on the right track visually. In four minutes, the developers first present an extensive character editor before it gets down to business.

As already known, in terms of violence and atmosphere, it’s more based on Diablo 2 – and that looks really good with nasty attacks and a powerful crimson red result.

Open world and social systems

As already known, Diablo 4 relies on a real, open world. There should be up to 150 dungeons here – plus world bosses that you can tackle together with other players in the shared world. In addition, so-called strongholds can be found everywhere in Sanctuary. These are strongholds that players can take and turn from dark retreats into friendly settlements.

According to Blizzard, Diablo 4 was designed entirely for cooperative combat. Level differences should not be an obstacle to the group experience and Cross Play will literally connect Xbox and PC in a playful way. PvP will also be possible in special zones, the “cursed areas of Mephisto”.

Endgame forever

Particularly important for Diablo fans: The endgame of Diablo 4 should offer “endless possibilities” and be fed with new content over the years. For example, there will be “Nightmare Dungeons”, which should offer experienced groups a real challenge. There is also the Tree of Whispers, a system that generates regular world goals and bounties and pays out rewards.

Diablo 4 will be available in 2023 for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X | S appear.
