New World: Why the July patch will be the best update in a long time
In a new developer video for New World, the people at Amazon Games have revealed a number of promising changes that will make their way to the game in the July 2022 big update. Among them is an adjustment that many players found just terrible when the MMORPG was launched. What’s changing, you ask? The tuning balls fly out of the game. So from this update you no longer need keys to enter dungeons!
The highlights of the July patch in New World

- The previously announced new dungeon “Barnacles & Black Power Expedition” opens its doors on the PTR.

- Perks are getting a massive overhaul: Existing perks will receive new balancing adjustments, some perks will be stronger when socketed on weapons.
- Improved crafting random stats: Weapons have increased chance for combat perks, earrings have reduced chance for crafting perks.
- Better ways to good loot: Green and blue rarity probability is reduced. Items with two values have a higher overall numerical value than an item with only one value. That means, for example: If a sword had +7 strength, a comparable sword with strength and constitution will probably have something like +4 strength and +4 constitution → higher number than a single stat. A min-max approach is thus influenced by this.
- Better recycling: If you dismantle unique loot from expeditions, you get a resource with which you can craft a targeted drop of this expedition. In the long run, you are guaranteed to get the desired item. If you disassemble normal items, you have a chance of perfect recycling. This brings you a resource that you can use to build a wide variety of items. This is how you get Skill XP, Gypsum, valuable resources or you can also build new equipment.
- Faster Gathering and Crafting Progression: Level 1-200 of chopping wood and fishing are reached faster. Leveling from 1 to 200 should also run faster when crafting. T5 Reagents will be the only resource needed for Refinements in the future. T3 and T4 reagents will be convertible. T4 and T5 crafting will give more experience points.

Community is happy, but also has concerns

However, some players wonder if the limit of 20 weekly mutators applies to personally opened expeditions – or to 20 mutator expeditions entered in general. The latter would severely limit whether you’re helping out on a dungeon that’s stuck on a boss or had a lost connection, although personally you’re not at all interested in a “low dungeon” with uninteresting potential loot. LMAO I couldn’t keep reading past “voice ball” for dungeons. I mean even if someone has never played the game it was as simple as copying the terms used by the developers in their notes. They are called tuning orbs not balls and even worse voice balls. Seems irrelevant but it shows the lack of professionalism.
