A Plague Tale: Requiem – Release 2022 confirmed! New gameplay trailer
A Plague Tale: Requiem, the sequel to 2019’s A Plague Tale: Innocence, is slated for release later this year. Those responsible announced this with a new gameplay trailer during the Bethesda and Xbox showcase on June 12, 2022.
For me, A Plague Tale: Innocence was known to be one of the most positive surprises of the gaming year 2019. The developers of Asobo created an atmospheric, well staged game that was visually impressive and also cut a fine figure in terms of action, stealth and puzzle gameplay. I particularly liked the character drawings of the main characters Amicia and Hugo, through which I was able to connect emotionally and always wanted to know how they would get out of their precarious situation in the end.
Requiem will continue to be released in 2022
The direct sequel A Plague Tale: Requiem has been announced for quite a while and judging by the trailers so far it all looks like more of the same, just improved in all areas (the graphics!) or with new facets (crossbow ) extended. In my opinion, that alone would be enough for a potentially great gaming experience. That’s why the game is also on ours List of the most exciting new releases in the current gaming year.
The Bethesda and Xbox Showcase on June 12, 2022 revealed new details about the game, a fresh gameplay trailer, and the confirmation: Yep, A Plague Tale: Requiem (buy now €59.99) will continue to appear in 2022. However, the developers still did not want to reveal a specific release date.
New information about A Plague Tale: Requiem
Here are the most important findings from the A Plague Tale: Requiem developer blog:
- In order for the setting, game world and plot to appear as authentic as possible away from the fantasy elements, an enormous amount of research work was done and a researcher for medieval history was collaborated with.
- The new adventure takes place in the south of France. Provence leaves behind the murky atmosphere of 14th-century Aquitaine and offers a new, more colorful and vibrant palette.
- Again we sneak, puzzle and fight our way through villages, fields and churches. These locations are supplemented by new locations such as busy marketplaces, busy ports or even a dye works.
- The new trailer also shows that Amicia has undergone a transformation compared to the first part. Not only does it appear more defensive in battle, but also more aggressive. She attacks to kill. Her little brother Hugo doesn’t like it at all. We will certainly work through this conflict in the second part.
