Diablo 4 should receive cosmetic objects and full-fledged expansions in the future

Diablo 4 will be supported for years after its release, says Rod Fergusson, general manager of the franchise.

“For those of you reading along at home, the release of Diablo 4 means there are three Diablo games in three years,” he wrote on Twitter.

What the future holds for Diablo 4

“The Diablo franchise is returning in a big way, and we’re really excited to offer different experiences for all types of players! Hope to see you in Sanctuary!”

“To be clear, D4 is a full price game designed for PC, PS and Xbox audiences,” he adds. “We plan to deliver an incredible range of post-launch content based on optional cosmetic items and full story-driven expansions. More details on that coming soon.”

Fergusson’s statements may also be intended to make it clear that Diablo 4 does not include any of the elements that Diablo Immortal has been criticized as pay to win.

At the same time, of course, his comments will remain in the minds of the players. The community will certainly be watching closely how Diablo 4 develops in the future.

Diablo 4 will be released in 2023 for PC, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
