Gamescom 2022: Activision Blizzard is not there

Another exhibitor is missing at this year’s Gamescom. As reported by Gameswirtschaft.de, ActivisionBlizzard will not be present at the game fair in Cologne this year. This means that Call of Duty, an annual crowd puller, is gone.

Significantly fewer exhibitors at the gaming fair

It’s getting emptier at Gamescom. After Nintendo, Take-Two and Wargaming canceled their participation in this year’s fair, another big hole is now being torn with ActivisionBlizzard. Not only will the Blizzard Hall with stage and Hearthstone tavern be missing – there will probably not be a call-of-duty stand in 2022 either.

Like Boris Gojic, Territory Marketing Manager DACH/CEE at the request of Gameswirtschaft.de said that “after a thorough examination” it was decided not to participate. It is true that the interest group and the games industry in Germany continue to be supported. For unspecified reasons, however, they do not want to be represented on site.

Gamescom 2022 is scheduled to take place from August 24th to 28th in the Cologne exhibition halls.
