Xbox and Bethesda Showcase 2022: We agree, this was more than the sum of the games

The Summer Game Fest probably culminates on Sunday evening with the collective presentation of Xbox and Bethesda reached. We still have a few shows to look forward to, but the first announcements since Microsoft bought ZeniMax Media are likely to be the ones that have built up tremendous anticipation beforehand. This has in no small part to do with Starfield, a mammoth of an RPG that wants to go far beyond Skyrim’s ambitions. However, our editors were not always in agreement as to whether the scenes shown really lived up to expectations.

That wasn’t the only conflict on this show: Because we were looking forward to different names than the ones shown at the end. And while Silksong, the sequel to the acclaimed indie hollow knight, has been unveiled, we don’t have a date yet. The game was also completely ignored in the 2022/2023 release list. What does that tell us? Not that much at first. Because overall, the showcase with Xbox and Bethesda was significantly better than the opening by Geoff Keighley. Surprisingly, Kojima has decided to show up on Xbox. The Rick and Morty creators are once again gracing the video game world with their bad, evil humor, and Game Pass is also underestimated far too quickly. Because it has great added value when suddenly the games from Riot, the unusual Battle Royale Naraka: Bladepoint or all the new content for Fallout 76 are accessible to a large number of players.
