This year’s Gamescom will take place from August 24th to 28th in the Cologne exhibition halls. This year, visitors can finally visit the various stands again and play numerous titles with their own hands. Ticket sales started a few days ago, but overall the game fair will probably be a little emptier this year. So far, major publishers such as Nintendo, 2K, Rockstar Games, and Wargaming have already confirmed that they will not be attending Gamescom this year.

“After a thorough examination, we have decided that we will unfortunately not be taking part in Gamescom this year. We continue to support the efforts of the association and the games industry in Germany – and we will continue to look for opportunities in the years to come of Gamescom. We are very excited about the news and attractions of the fair, reads Activision Blizzard’s statement to Games Economy.
