In Hooked on You we date serial killers and yes, you read that right

A dating sim for Dead by Daylight? Sounds absurd, but also absolutely fantastic.

It sounds damn absurd at first: A dating sim where we can flirt with the killers from Dead by Daylight. What may sound like an April Fool’s joke to some people is now becoming reality – Hooked on You shows us the soft side of the otherwise ruthless killers and at least I’m already in the mood for it.

A killer dating sim for the summer

Basically, Dead by Daylight is a dark horror game in which four survivors have to escape from a merciless killer. What does all this have to do with romance? A surprising amount, because there is quite a large community of fans who not only like to play the game, but are also interested in the characters – and in the fun way that enough fan creations show.

Especially these fans and everyone who is interested in Dead by Daylight but never got to the game should now be happy about Hooked on You. In the visual novel we can get to know the four killers trapper, huntress, ghost and ghost a little more intimately. But check out the trailer for yourself:

Of course, Dead by Daylight fans will immediately notice that Hooked on You is a lot more colorful than its original, after all, we seem to end up here on a tropical island, with summery, scantily clad dating options.

But don’t worry, it’s still supposed to be murderous: while we charm the killers, it’s supposed to depend on our decisions whether we enter into a romance or friendship – or at least get chopped up. Well, no one can say we didn’t know what we were getting into.

Unfortunately, so far only the four original killers from Dead by Daylight have been announced for the dating sim, whether more will be added later is not yet known.

Hooked on You: A Dead by Daylight Dating Sim is scheduled for release in summer 2022 and has so far been announced for the PC.

Actually, Dead by Daylight is perfect for a dating sim. After all, there are enough absurd offshoots in the genre in which we are allowed to date monsters (Monster Prom), weapons (Boyfriend Dungeon) or daddies (Dream Daddy), so even killers don’t seem so outlandish anymore.

And while I’ve never been personally interested in Dead by Daylight’s gameplay, I do have a bit of a soft spot for dating sims, I’ll admit it. The more absurd the better. Since I always notice in my circle of friends how interesting the lore and characters are for many DbD fans, Hooked on You might be the perfect opportunity to convince myself of it.
