One Piece takes a rare break – after that begins the end of the manga!
The popular manga One Piece is almost always published weekly, but now it’s taking a rare break: there will be no new chapters for a month! After that, however, the end of the manga, which has been running for almost 25 years, begins!
There is a new chapter of One Piece to read every week – for many fans of Luffy, Zorro, Nami & Co. that is as certain as the sunrise in the morning. Sometimes there isn’t a chapter in a week and the community is already half freaking out. But now readers have to be strong: There will be no new reading material for one-piece fans for a whole month. The manga is taking a big break! The last time there was such a long interruption was the legendary time jump, which laid many points for the course of the manga. But what is expected now after the upcoming break should definitely compensate for the waiting time. Because the grand finale of One Piece is getting closer.
The end of One Piece invites you to look back: Do you know the names of all 100 volumes of One Piece? Including the special volumes?
One Piece takes a long break before the start of the finale
Manga author Eiichirō Oda wants to use the break to prepare, among other things, for the story arc that follows the adventure in the land of Wano that is just ending. That also heralds the “final saga”, i.e. the conclusion of more than two decades of manga history.
However, fans are now divided as to how long One Piece will need until the last manga page – if it is really a saga, then ten years can easily pass. Finally, the Four Emperors saga, which began in 2015 and includes all events on Zou, Whole Cake Island and Wano, is currently ending.

End of One Piece closer than expected?
on the other hand Oda had declared in 2020that One Piece would be only four or five years from its finale. Accordingly, a longer arc would fit this prediction. But that’s somehow unbelievable for many fans because there are still so many mysteries, conflicts and story points that have to be ticked off – the conflict with the world government, the fight against the Blackbeard pirates, reaching the last Grandline island Laugh Tale… and of course finding the One Piece.
But no matter how long it takes: Are you getting tired of One Piece? Is it good that there is a clear ending in sight that the author is heading towards? Or should the story about the Straw Hat Pirates go on forever? Let us know what you think about it in the comments!
