The first Assassin’s Creed could get a new edition in the form of a remake or remaster.

There are some indications that the first Assassin’s Creed may be coming back soon. At least that’s what some fans think, and they may well be right. Among other things, this is due to some short scenes in a trailer that look much prettier, then there is the countdown to the stream event, an addition to the logo and of course the 15th anniversary.

Sexism issues at Ubisoft: The French Assassin’s Creed developer and publisher has been accused of a toxic corporate culture since July 2020. These include far-reaching sexism problems, misogyny and discrimination, which are said to be deeply rooted in the company. Although Ubisoft has already taken action, for example by exchanging management staff and openly commenting on the allegations, many employees within the company feel that these measures are not sufficient.

Assassin’s Creed franchise could be working towards Part 1 remake

What’s the matter? Recently, Ubisoft held an Assassin’s Creed stream to mark the series’ 15th anniversary. It didn’t show Assassin’s Creed Rift or Infinity or Nexus, but it did show a few other things. Among other things, scenes from the very first Assassin’s Creed, which look much better than was the case in the original. Additionally, another big reveal event has been announced for September, to which there is also a countdown. It starts with some free content for AC Valhalla and ends in September with the very first Assassin’s Creed.

That’s why many fans now believe that possibly a Remake or remaster of the first part could be revealed when this countdown ends. At the same time, the next Assassin’s Creed stream will take place, which is supposed to be about the future of the franchise. More or less by accident, the first Assassin’s Creed also received an addition to the time-honored logo with “A Ubisoft Original”. Of course, a new edition would also go well with the 15th anniversary.

When could the announcement come? The countdown to the Assassin’s Creed celebrations ends with the first Assassin’s Creed in September, but has no official date. However, there is an option on the merch page to indicate that new merch will be released on September 5th to coincide with the final part of the anniversary event. That could mean that on this day we see the announcement of an Assassin’s Creed remake or remaster.

But of course that wasn’t all. To mark the big anniversary, you can play Assassin’s Creed Origins for free this weekend, for example. The game is currently included in the Game Pass anyway, but you can still play it for free on PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S until June 20th.
