Call of Duty is now taking guns away from cheaters

Activision and its Call of Duty development teams continue their fight against cheaters and are now taking another new approach.

The anti-cheat system Ricochet now takes away the guns from users identified by the system as cheaters. You can’t fight with fists anymore.

Is constantly being developed

In a new one blog entry you go into the current status of the anti-cheat solution Ricochet.

So far, there have been other approaches known as Damage Shield and Cloaking. Damage Shield basically activates a kind of God Mode for all other players if a cheater is discovered in the match.

However, cloaking makes it impossible for cheaters to see enemies and bullets or hear sounds.

Not only future games like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will benefit from this system, they will also continue to be used in Call of Duty Vanguard and Call of Duty Warzone. The latest weapon removal approach is called Disarm.

Apart from such measures, cheaters will of course continue to be blocked. So far, more than 180,000 cheaters in Warzone and Vanguard have been thrown out.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will be released on October 28, 2022 for PC (also back on Steam), Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
