Nvidia Geforce Game Ready 516.40 WHQL: Game optimizations and maybe not ready yet?

Nvidia recently released the new Geforce Game Ready 516.40 WHQL, which seems to bring new optimizations but also problems. Among other things, one of the optimized titles, Jurassic World Evolution 2, to cause problems. Read more about this below.

AMD and Nvidia not only release new graphics drivers when new products are released, but also when problems need to be solved or optimizations for new games need to be incorporated. Nvidia therefore released the Geforce Game Ready driver 516.40 WHQL this week, which supports some new games and new features in existing games.

The major new game that this driver release has been optimized for is Fall Guys: Free for All, a multiplayer battle royale that relies on player skill. The title is scheduled to be released on June 21st on the Epic Games Store. The new driver should also offer updates for existing games. For example, DLSS and ray tracing were implemented in Jurassic World Evolution 2, which should now also be able to be used optimally. Raytracing was also implemented in Capcom’s Resident Evil games 2, 3 and 7, which should now also be able to be optimally used on the driver side.

Apart from that, new optimized Geforce Experience settings for the games Dolmen, Evil Dead: The Game, Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach, My Time at Sandrock, Paradise Killer, Sniper Elite 5, V Rising, Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong and Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate – Added Daemonhunters.

However, since the first problems with the new driver are already appearing in the hardware forums and social media so soon after the release, an installation should only take place if one of the new titles is to be played. The complications most users complain about are artefact formation, other graphic errors and crashes from previously problem-free systems, so that Geforce Game Ready 516.40 cannot be recommended for the time being.
