The Last of Us mod in God of War: This is how whimsical Joel and Ellie look with superpowers
If you think you’ve seen everything Sony’s biggest PS4 hits have to offer, you’re dead wrong. A modder called Omega Fantasy has set itself the task of uniting the two PS4 titles God of War and The Last of Us. What he created with the help of a mod looks beyond crazy.
Joel and Ellie become gods
Omega Fantasy offers a mod for PC that sets the character models of Joel and Ellie to those of Kratos and Atreus. Instead of Krato’s axe, Joel wanders around with a homemade reed to annihilate the roaming Draugar – er, we mean clickers.
He shows how unusual it looks in a video on his YouTube channel:

It’s funny to see how far Ellie can suddenly jump and how strong Joel has become. Only the bow and arrow in Ellie’s hand and Joel’s modified barrel seem vaguely familiar.
Halfway through the video you can see the well-known first boss fight against the stranger. But instead of Baldur decorated with runes, we suddenly see David, an antagonist from The Last of Us. The epic cutscenes turn an ordinary brawl into a bizarre god fight.
God of War: Ragnarök will soon be the sequel to the first adventure of Atreus and Kratos:

Joel and David with their own dialogues
It gets even crazier: YouTubers Speclizer swapped out the boss fight dialogue and used snippets of conversation from David and Joel from The Last of Us. This makes the argument between the two modded characters even more authentic, as the dialogue now fits the plot perfectly.
Towards the end of the video, Joel still wrestles a giant troll, which is not a problem for someone of divine origin. If you want to try out the PC mod for yourself, you can download it from Omega Fantasy receive.
