Survival MMO Conan Exiles will probably get its biggest expansion in 2022 – almost everything will be revised
The survival game Conan Exiles, which can be played on Steam, Epic, PlayStation and Xbox, has been very quiet in recent months. Now, however, a video has surfaced showing the developers presenting a new extension. Age of Sorcery is designed to bring magic to the world of Conan and includes dozens of overhauls. The release is scheduled for 2022.
What’s in the new expansion? According to the developers, Age of Sorcery and the associated Patch 3.0 will be the biggest update for Conan Exiles so far. This would also surpass the Isle of Siptah expansion, which was released in 2021.
The focus is on the magic. However, this should fit the world of Conan the Barbarian and be “grounded”:
- Players choose an “Aura of Power” that allows them to perform rituals and cast classic spellcasting abilities. Each Aura of Power brings different abilities and spells.
- Spells are meant to be “traditional” abilities that you can cast.
- Servants, mounts and a fast travel system can be used via the rituals. However, a “Sacrifical Stone” in your base, reagents and human sacrifices are required for the rituals.
In addition to this magic content, a number of revisions are also planned, including adjustments to the attributes, a completely new fast travel system and an overhaul of the monetization.
How likely is the leak? The leak shows a video in which the developers themselves present the new features of the extensions. In addition, the developers themselves have already indicated a big announcement for June 21st via the official website. It seems the video was just leaked too early.

What will be changed? Almost everything. In the video, the developers introduce adjustments to the following content:
- A new attribute and perk system
- You can now corrupt your attributes by indulging in the Void, unlocking all-new perks
- The construction system will be completely revised. All buildings can now be found in one menu and controller users in particular should benefit from this
- Traveling should be made easier by a teleport system
However, one of the biggest changes concerns monetization. In the future, the game will have a Battle Pass and an in-game store. However, these should contain purely cosmetic innovations and offer no playful advantages. There will also be free rewards in the Battle Pass.
In return, the paid DLCs will be abolished. These have appeared regularly so far and also primarily brought cosmetics.
When is the expansion coming out? Age of Sorcery is scheduled for release in the third quarter of 2022. This includes the months of July to September. There is no exact release date yet.
