Diablo Immortal: Excellent Free2Play Player Reaches Top Rank In PvP - "You Can't Be Competitive Without Money"

The German streamer and YouTuber Wudijo has become a so-called “immortal” in Diablo Immortal. For this you have to be really good in PvP with your clan. Wudijo even managed to do this without spending a penny in the game. But he still warns against the shop.

What did the YouTuber achieve? In Diablo Immortal you can become an “immortal” on your server. That’s the ultimate goal you can have in PvP. You can do this by:

  • Reached at least level 43
  • Join the Shadow Clan through various challenges
  • Becomes one of the top 10 clans of the server
  • Win at least 6 out of 10 PvP matches in the Rite of Exile
  • Overthrow the ancient “Immortal” in a final battle with other clans and then survive as the last in a battle with the remaining clans
  • The clan itself then stays at the top for 7 days before it can be challenged again

The requirements for this are therefore high and many players fear that they will never achieve this success without using real money. Because the shop is heavily criticized for being Pay2Win – some mechanics were only discovered long after the release.

Wudijo has succeeded with his clan in ascending to the status of “immortal”. And that without investing a cent in the game.

Wudijo renounces real money, but not his clan

How did Wudijo achieve this success? Especially with a lot of experience. The German already made a name for himself as an expert in Diablo 3 and classified the big exploit in Season 25 on MeinMMO. He is also very active in other Hack’n’Slays. In the last 365 days he streamed:

  • Over 1,600 hours of Diablo 3
  • Over 600 hours of Path of Exile
  • Almost 240 hours of Diablo 2 Resurrected
  • Already over 180 hours of Diablo Immortal (via Sullygnome)

In addition, there are dozens of hours that he has invested in guides and videos. So he’s deeply rooted in the genre.

He set himself the goal of wanting to achieve everything in Diablo Immortal without using real money. Almost 17 days after its release, it became “Immortal”. He explains that this is a combination of effort, coordination, strategy, luck and the strength of his clan.

But at the same time he warns against the shop. Because success is not only based on his strength, but on his entire clan. And there some spent money.

What does Wudijo say about the shop? He explains in a comment below the video that his success shouldn’t be taken as proof that anything can be achieved as a Free2Play player in Diablo Immortal:

Of course, as I mentioned in the video, not my entire clan is fully Free2Play. The fear that this video will prove that F2P is feasible in this game is not true. The game is designed so that the players who spend the most money are at the top of all leaderboards by default. And without [Geld] it’s almost impossible to be competitive at all.

Even before that, the player wished that Blizzard would make changes, at least in PvP, and that the difference in gear would be reduced to no more than 10%.

What is your experience with PvP? Have you already taken part in such a battle or do you lack the necessary equipment for it?
