Diablo Immortal: Wudijo Claims the Immortal Crown F2P!
Top performances in Diablo Immortal are only possible if you help the drop luck with hard euros or dollars, many think. Last weekend, professional monk Wudijo proved that this is not the case. With his clan “Defenders of Westmarch”, he earned the coveted PvP title “Immortal” without investing a euro.
In addition to the well-known battles between heaven and hell, an eternal conflict between the shadows and the immortals smolders in Diablo Immortal, which occasionally erupts. Here, the Shadows are a secretive group created to keep the immortals from going berserk or becoming complacent about their power – a sort of secret police force, like the Assassins of Diablo 2 who hunted rogue wizards corrupted by demonic magic had been.
In-game, the Shadows are a PvP faction that players can join, but the system is entirely optional. The number of shadows that can be on a server is unlimited. Shadow players can found so-called “Dark Clans”, and after the Clan has been created by a player, other Shadow players can join it. A clan can have up to 100 players. If that player’s Dark Clan succeeds in defeating the other Dark Clans on the server and overthrowing the Immortals, that victorious Dark Clan will become the Immortal Clan. When the Immortal Dominion ends (after 7 days), the Immortal Clan will, as all Dominions must, become a normal Clan again, while the cycle begins again.
At the launch, Mönch-Profi Wudijo, which some of you may know from Diablo 3, set the goal of getting as far as possible without spending a euro – F2P. After 17 days, last Sunday, June 19, 2022, he finally got the “Immortal” crown with his clan “Defenders of Westmarch”. Congratulations on this solid performance! In the video above he comments on the victory.

However, as a full-time streamer with tons of support, he admits he’s not entirely happy with the current weight of Pay2Win in PvP. In an interview Wudjio suggests as a possible solution to limit the gear difference in PvP to a maximum of 10%, regardless of the actual differences in stats outside of PvP. Pay2Win players aka “Whales” would still have a numerical advantage, but the best Free2Play players could still win with good gameplay. By the way, players on Wudijo’s server EU-Dark Wanderer can now join the celebrations and dust off extra rewards for 7 days, including a random legendary helmet and special offers at the Hilt dealer!
